Tires: tires, nissan sentra, nissan dealer

i have a 2002 nissan sentra gxe. i'm looking to get new tires. i wanna know if the brand of the tire matter. Does each car have like a specific brand that is recommended for the type of car u have? the nissan dealer told me that sentra have recommended brands. He could have told me that cause he wants to sell me certain brands. i don't know for sure. anyway i'm looking to get hankook optimo h727 tires, u think those are good match for a sentra. thank u for taking the time reading. i appreciate it.

Each vehicle manufacturer specifies what tire goes onto each vehicle - so in that respect there is a tire that was designed specifically for that vehicle.

However, tires come in a wide range of performances - even within the same brand.

So, no, you do not have to get what the car dealer says, but it would be best to make sure you know what it is you are getting.  I would suggest looking at the ratings on Tire Rack or Discount Tire.
