Tires: Tires on my jimmy, gmc jimmy, tire failure

i have a 1998 gmc jimmy and its currently got 235/75/15's on it. do you know if i could use 225/60/16's on it?

If you mean will they fit on the current rims? - no! 16" tires do not fit on 15" rims.

If you mean if you buy rims is this a good choice for tire size? - No, this would be going down in load carrying capacity and that increases the risk of a load related tire failure, which sometimes has tragic results.

If you want to know what might be appropriate, I suggest you spend some time on Tire Rack's or Discount Tire's web site - then follow their recommendations.
