Tires: tire pressure, Tire Size

Question
What is the correct psi for tire size 215/60-16 0n a 1992 toyota crown majesta,

Answer
Marvin,

On every vehicle sold in the US, there is a sticker commonly - called the vehicle placard - that lists the original tire size and the proper pressure for that size.  The placard is usually located on a doorpost or in the glove box – but sometimes it is located in the trunk or on the fuel filler door.

If you are using the original tire size, then the pressure listed on the placard is appropriate.

However, if you are using a different tire size, then the pressure has to be recalculated - and the starting point for that calculation is the original tire size and pressure as listed on the placard.  The calculation is not difficult, but it requires the use of tire load tables, which are not published on the internet - but I have a copy.

I also have a book that summarizes these placards and I don't show a listing for a 1992 Toyota Crown Majesta.  This might be because the book is for US vehicles only.

So find the placard and post back with the information, and I'll do the calculation.
