Subaru Repair: Subaru brake repair, disc pads, cliper

Question
I was trying to replace the front disc pads on my 1992 Loyale.  I couldn't get the piston to move in.  I then noticed to parking brake is on the front and thought that might be the problem.  I read something about the front brakes on some Subarus are a locking caliper type that needs to be turned as they are pushed in.  Is this the case and if so how do you turn the piston and push it?

Answer
I am not sure if this model has the calipers you are talking about or not.  If it does contain the parking brake it will have a Cable and a hose hooked to it.  If the piston is hollow it should just push back.  also try opening the bleeder and pushing back the caliper if it goes back replace the brake line.  If you have the cliper that screwback you need a special tool to make it go back, you should find an inexpensive one at the parts store.  Hope I could help you!
