Tires: michelin tires, michelin energy mxv4, michelin tires

Question
i have a 3 mercedes:  84 300d; 85 300sd; 91 350SDL; & 91 VW Westphalia.

i have Michelin Harmony on all these vehicles.  some months back during the weather we were in my 84 300d and it was  raining and i had to slow down from maybe 65 or 70 to 45 or 50 because of hydroplanning.  my son who drives the 300SD says yeah dad "my car handles terrible when it is raining"....  we are running 205/70R 15 Harmony michelins.

i am getting new tires for the 84 and do not want to put harmony's on it.  i see the hydroedge is only offered at 195 70/r14.  no 205/70/r 14s.

if i go with less rubber on the ground will my ride be affected much?

what would you recommend?

thanks, pete

Answer
Hello,
Sorry to hear about the problem with the tire, but I am sorry to say that is so with that model of tire.
I had Michelin Harmony and had trouble stopping ( sliding ) in rain.  Did not have the hydroplaning, but stopping was a issue.  Michelin does not believe this happens.
I now use the Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus.  They are great!
Check them out, I think you will like them better.
