Tires: tire sizes, proper inflation pressure, infinity g35

Question
I have a INFINITY G35. THE REAR TIRES ARE 235/50/17.  Can I use 235/45/17 tires?

Answer
Tony,

According to my book, some G35's came with P225/50R17's on the front and P235/50R17's on the rear.  Please check your vehicle placard to be sure this information is correct.  Vehicle placards are usually located on a doorpost or in the glovebox and list the original tire size and the proper inflation pressure for that size.

It is never a good idea to use a tire with a lower load carrying capacity compared to the original tire and basically that's what you are asking about. So, no - not enough load carrying capacity.

Besides, if you have a 2005, the rims are only 7" wide and they are too narrow.
