current tires size 245/45/17,would 275/40/17 hurt anything

Hi Tim!!

Well....thats kind of a hard question to answer since I don't know what you are putting these tires on, but no matter what your putting them on they probably are going to be a little big and will probably rub on most cars.

The proper 1 up size for the tire mentioned would be a 255/40/17. That is the same height(give or take a millimeter or two) and slightly wider than you currently have. A 275/40/17 is quite a bit wider and taller than you currently have with the 245/45/17.
