Tires: 1998 4runner shake 3.4L 4x4, hunter gsp9700, service writer

Question
I have a 1998 Toy. 4runner Limited. I bought it with Dunlops. They were old so I replaced with Goodyears. Anyway in either case I get a vibration/shake in the floor, pedal, and steering wheel at approx.65 +-6 mph. I took it to Toyota to have them balance the tires with the flange plate adapter(I did not see it with my eyes but I told the service writer that this is what I was after)Hunter GSP9700 I think it's called.Supposedly this dealer has one. Anyway I still get the shake-maybe a little better but not all gone that's for sure. I am told the shake is very common with these vehicles. Your thoughts on what I should do?  Thanks  Mike

Answer
Mike,

You should go back to where you bought the tires and they should fix the problem - UNLESS, the vibration was there before you put on the new tires.  In that case, you're going to have a lot of work searching for the source.  I'd suggest starting with the U joints in the driveshaft.

Hope this helps.
