Tires: tire pressure, goodyear wrangler silent armour, discount tires

Question
I drive a 2003 Tundra 2WD with a 3.5 inch lift (coil overs in front and add a leaf in the rear)
I jumped tires up to 265/75R16 BFG all terrains and kept pressure at 35 all around and got 55,000 miles and still had good tread left.  I just jumped again to 285/75R16.  The pressure Discount Tires used was 45 in the front and 40 in the rear.  I do only highway driving.  What do you suggest i keep the pressure of these tires at? They are Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour.

Answer
An important item you left off is the letters that are part of the tire size.

I'll bet you had P265/75R16's and the new tires are LT285/75R16's, which is why Discount inflated them to 45 psi.

Normally when I make pressure recommendations I start with the original tire size / inflation combination, but you are so far away from that, that I'm in unfamiliar territory.  But based on your past experience and the differences between LT metric tires and P metric tires, 45 psi sounds like a reasonable starting point.
