hi i have a ford explorer year 2000 have you any idea what size tyres i can fit to the existing rims i was thinking in the range of 33x12.50x16   many thanks  les miller

Hi Leslie,

I will need the engine size of this explorer and look up the max you can install bigger tires without rubbing,Also the tire size will say on your tires on the side starting with a P or LT stating it's size.

Answer
I looked up the information for you and for what i understand the biggest size you can go is 265/70/16  the 33x12.50x16 are way to big and will rub big time unless you install a lift kit which will make the explorer raise alot higher to fit these big tires but i haven't seen a explorer with a lift kit looks kinda odd.  if you go with the 256 series make sure they fit good before driving it on the road and have the person who is installing the tires to do a clearance test by moving the steering wheel both ways sharp to be sure.. hope this helps you
