Tires: Tire sizing, ford focus zts, 2001 ford focus zts

My stock tires on our 2001 Ford Focus ZTS are 205 15 R16 and a dealer stated I can go to a 205 60 R16 and the only thing that will be affected is the speedometer a tick. Is this true and is this an OK move to make?

The tire is going to be slightly taller so there might be an interefrence problem (probably not).

The dealer is right that the speedo will be affected, but you are also going to lose a bit of the handling.

Since P205/55R16's are so plentiful - and therefore cheap - why would he suggest this?  

Personally, unless I had a specific goal in mind, I'd stay with the original size.
