QuestionIm a 19 year old female and I would love to start riding. I'm just not quite sure..where to start. Ive taken a basic riding class and I have my CY endorsement, but now I'm ready to find my bike. I would love some tips on what to look for and what to look out for! Thanks!
AnswerMegan - congratulations on passing the safety class and getting your motorcycle endorsement! You are joining a wonderful community of women and men!
If you are buying your very first bike, I would strongly urge you to consider a good used bike. These pages from my website might be of particular interest to you: (copy and paste into your browser)

As I am sure you know, there are a variety of things to consider - what type of bike you want - sport, sport-touring or cruiser-style. Don't be afraid to start out with a bike that you think is "too big" in terms of engine displacement. I almost never recommend starting out on a 250cc bike - you'll outgrow it in a week and then be in the same position you're in right now.
Pick a bike that is comfortable for you, and is mechanically sound. If you can, have a reputable mechanic check the bike over before you finalize the purchase. The last thing you want to deal with is a bike with "issues." That will distract you from gaining the practice and experience you need.
Let me know if I can help you in any other way!
