Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: trailering a motorcycle, fuel valve, gas tank

I'll be moving to New Mexico soon, and plan on putting the bike in the back of a box truck with the rest of my belongings. I plan on using a wheelchock and tie downs, but i am unsure whether i should have gas tank full or empty during the trip? Any other tips would be appreciated. thanks Joe

Emptying the tank is the best option, but if you don't get the chance, it is still pretty safe to transport the bike with gas in it. I would not have the tank filled up all the way to the top, but if it's 3/4 full or less, you should be pretty safe. Be sure to put the fuel valve in the OFF position if it has that option.
