Used Cars: Star Auto Sales Shelbyville salesman was deceptive, dishonest, evasive, uncooperative., 2006 nissan altima, nissan altima

Question
QUESTION: I bought a 2006 Nissan altima in Tn. the salesman told me the only paint work on the car was rear bumper. I discovered a few days later when i was putting my grandson in his car seat that there had paint and body work on right door and dog leg. I called the dealer and the salesman said the owner knew nothing about it. I called the auction in Nashville where the car was bought and they told me that all cars with frame/unibody are announced prior to auction. Do i have any recourse? Thanks for your time.

ANSWER: Hi Bill
The subject line you posted says it all " Buying Used Car as is "

AS IS, means any issues the vehicle may have becomes your problems the moment you take delivery unless you can prove misrepresentation, and we both know getting legal advice can become costly and time consuming and it's the main reason consumers don't exercise their rights when having been lied to by a dealership.

The salesman outright lied to you, if your interested to expose this dealership to thousand of other consumers that may consider doing business with this dealership leave a contact phone number at " raypaulsen99@yahoo.com " and I will fill you in how to proceed.

QUESTION: I bought a 2006 Nissan altima from Star Auto Sales in shelbyville "AS IS" which I should have known better. The car was totally misrepresented to me. The salesman said it had a clean title which it did, but he said the only paint work was to the rear bumper cover. I later observed when putting my grandson in his car seat and opened the right rear door, I noticed the door had been painted and other paint work on the dog leg. I also ran an auto check on the car and found out it had been involved in a wreck which caused frame/unibody damage. I talked to the salesman and he became very elusive saying he knew nothing about the damage and furthermore there was nothing he was going to do about because I bought the vehicle "AS IS".

Answer
Unfortunately you have no recourse when buying a vehicle AS IS.

I find it very hard to believe the salesman not knowing about frame damage to the vehicle , only paint work to rear bumper ?,,, Every dealer has history reports on all their inventory, and this dealer, yes is dishonest not disclosing all the facts.

It's dealers like this that give the industry a bad name that consumers need to stay away from, had you had the opportunity to study my website prior to purchase you would have known about the frame damage and not having to deal with a shady dealership.
