Used Cars: Bought an unsafe used car!!, type cars, wrecking yards

Question
I just bought a used car from a dealer. When we bought the car it was almost on empty. We filled it up, then brought it to my mother's house where she has 4 kids between 2 and 10. After it was sitting there for about an hour or two, we went outside to do minor work on it. When we got outside we immediately smelled gas. We looked under the car, and it was leaking a river of gasoline. Not just dripping drops here and there, I mean LEAKING a river on my mother's
driveway. The whole time we drove this thing after we filled it up we were driving a bomb!! What can I do? I paid 600 dollars for the car, which is alot for a disabled person on a fixed income. Isn't it illegal to sell someone an extremely dangerous car that could just blow up at
anytime the DAY we bought it??? Is there any legal action I can pursue???

Answer
Hi Anthony

Yes you were driving a bomb, and the sad part is the DMV allows people to sell these type cars without having to pass a safety inspection.

You bought the vehicle AS IS which means whatever problems the vehicle may have, becomes you're problems the moment you take delivery.

Your best bet will be to check with some wrecking yards in your area for parts needed.
