Used Cars: used car question, free legal advice, car question

I purchased a used work truck from a coworker for $800. I drove it 30 miles and it died. I had it towed twice and neither shop could diagnose the problem. I have asked the seller to take the truck back and refund my money. He refused. I understand you area of expertise is BEFORE the purchase, but in your opinion, am I in a "buyer beware" situation or do you think I have a small claims case?

Paying $800. for a vehicle you have to be lucky to get your bucks worth, but $800. is still a lot of coin going only 30 miles.
