Used Cars: Looking for used car, chrysler products, risk period

Question
Hi,
I am looking for a used car. Generally, i know nothing about car except it has four wheels and has an engine that moves. My price range is between 2500$ to 3200$. I prefer Honda with 2 doors or acura. what is the reasonable year and mileage? And please give some tips on looking for a car within my requirements. Thank you.

Answer
Well if you can find a Honda in that price range, you should be ok, as long as the car has been taken care of.  Make sure and run a carfax report, and have it checked out by a mechanic.  Normally the 2 doors should be cheaper than the 4 doors, so you should be ok there.  The year model range is going to be between 1995 and 1999,
between 100k miles and 180k miles.
It might be tough to find an Acura in that price range, those are pretty expensive cars, that are highly sought after, with good resale value, and really just going to be tough for you to find in that price range, not impossible, just tough.
If you have a hard time finding a Honda or Toyota in that price range, Nissans are a good option, and so are Kias.  I dont recommend Chrysler Products that would be in that price range.
In the end you just have to understand something, shopping in that price range is a risk...Period!  So here are some tips, Buy it from a dealership, or somebody with some type of a good reputation.  Have a carfax report run on the vehicle, and have it checked out by a reputable mechanic.
