Used Cars: Finding out lien holder, lien check, lien holder

QUESTION: Dealer didn't submit p'work for title. Has since closed/declared bankruptcy. DMV (GA) says title is still in old owners name & there is a lien. Can I find out who holds the lien? Will lienholder let me know if if loan has been pd off?

Have you paid for vehicle in full ?
how long have you had vehicle ?
Email me the vin#, I may or may not be able to trace the lien holder

QUESTION: The VIN is 1G1JC52F037116488. Bought car 9/4/08. I did fiance the car through GMAC. I can pay it off, but I don't want to do so unless I know the 1st lien in clear. My insurance says that GMAC is responsible for clearing this up. They don't agree. I do have original bill of sale.
