Used Cars: trade in value, toyota landcruiser, auction price

Okay I am really frustrated. I am trying to shop for a new car and trade mine in.  It is a 2001 toyota landcruiser with 66800 miles, navigation and anything else you could ask for.  I was offered 12000 something for it.  I know this is way to low.  I was told they had to see auction price in case it didnt sell they would send it to auction.  Also, they are advertising maximum cash value for trade ins.  I know this is a subjective comment but can I call them on that advertisement.  No asterick with additional comments. Any suggestions?

RE... Advertising max cash for trade is,yes this is a very subjective comment that you will find every dealer claims to offer top dollars for trade ins, forget trying to call them on that statement you will be wasting your time.
