Used Cars: restoration, cid engine, project restoration

Question
Ok I was thinking about buy a project car for restoration. I found an 85 camaro with a 350 cid engine that was put in about 2 years ago. The body frame is a little rusted but it doesn't look too bad. It looks like it will need headers and it will need some electrical fixing. It starts up quite well for 156k on the body and transmission. It needs interior work and the doors need to be lifted. He's asking 4k for it but I know it's not worth the 4k. Any tips on working down the price? Possibly to 1k because that's about where the condition is.

Answer
Hi Marcus
There is no book value it really comes down to what someone wants to pay, if you feel its 1k then tell him 1k and leave your #...after a few days with no answer and you still want the car phone to up the ante 1.5k or 2k...

just so you know an 85 camero at this time is not a classic and worthless in my mind...but for a project - restoration  paying little for car is lots of fun...and who knows down the road your maybe sitting on mega bucks
Good luck
