Trucking: Freight Broker Business, freight broker, nafta region

Question
I am an ex truckers wife who at the time worked from home for my husband by finding loads etc. I enjoyed it and at that time was living in the US I am Canadian and now in Canada and am wondering your opinion on starting an international freight broker business. It has been a few years since I've done it but really loved it and want to do it again. Do any companies hire people to work from home doing dispatch? Is dispatching a good career? Is it a good idea to start this type of business at this time? Thank you

Answer
Tracy, you can work from home as a brokers agent but most brokers will want someone with a shipper and carrier following.  There should be a market for international freight in the NAFTA region.
Do an internet search for brokers looking for agents and contact as many as possable until you find the right fit.  Good luck.
Jim.
