Trucking: o/p, peterbilt 387, mike ramos

      i am thinking about buying my own truck, what you think about buying a used  peterbilt 387? what is a good horse power and best trans so that i can save on fuel? do you think it is the same if i buy i Columbia with cat engine? i compared prices and some times they are the same.

To answer your question, the make of the truck is a personal choice, just like Ford vs. Chevy. usually a used fleet truck is all you need, they come spec'ed out to maximize efficiency. fuel savings is a drivers responsibility, limit idling, keep tires inflated properly and ease up on the pedal.
