Truck Repair: N14, head bolts, torque wrench

Question
What exactly is this plus degree thing. Example ..head bolts 160 ft lbs plus 90 degrees?

Answer
You torque the bolts to 160 lb/ft and turn the bolt an additional 90 degrees.paint a line on your bolt and then paint a line on the head 1/4 turn away from the line on your bolt.Turn until lines are in same spot.you have to torque and then turn a 1/4 turn is the easy way to say it. I can't remember for sure but I think it ends up being 285lb/ft.You can figure it out by doing one and then check it with your torque wrench.Just bump the torque up 5 lb/ft at a time until you get it to move a small amount more.
