Truck Repair: 88 ford f-150, ford f 150, jumper wire

Question
I have a ford f-150 V8 5.0.  I was hauling some wood around and shut the engine off, now it wont start.  The engine turns over fine but it wont start.  How can I check if its getting fuel?
How do you self prime the carb?
Or, if thats not the case, how can i check if its getting spark?

Answer
Over on the passengers side, just under the front edge of the floor mat, is a switch that cuts the fuel pump off if you hit a big bump.
make sure the red button on it is pushed in.

Check for spark by removing a plug wire, and use a jumper wire to close to ground, or use a spare spark plug.
