Truck Repair: fuel loss, cummins turbo diesel, inline fuel pump

Question
Cliff I wrote last week about my 5.9 turbo diesel it sat for the summer. Now I crank it over and it gets no fuel at the injevtor lines but plenty when i open the water seperator/filter valve. It is a 12 valve 5.9 cummins turbo diesel in a dodge pick up. Any help would be appreviated Thanks Rich

Answer
What year model?Meaning does it have the rotory pump(89-90&91-93) or inline(94-98).
I see it is a 1997 with the inline fuel pump.Did you check the fuel shutdown solenoid? It is a large 3 wire unit that mounts behind the fuel lines on the side of the pump in a vertical position.Make sure it is pulling in when you try to start it,if not just tie it up & see if it will start. If so check for power to the RED wire with key on & WHITE wire while cranking. The BLACK wire is ground.
