Truck Repair: loss of oil to rear head, low oil pressure, oil hole

Question
I have a 1996 International with a 435 N14.It has about 830000 miles on it.It lost oil pressure to the rear head. The dash gage reads about 35 psi at 1650 rpm and about 18 at idle.I was thinking a cam bearing may have spun.Could a broken cooling nozzle cause this?Do you have any suggestions? Thanks, David

Answer
A broken cooling nozzle on a N14 would cause low oil pressure.More than likely a spun cam bushing. The only sure way to see is take the pushtubes out & remove camfollower. There is an oil hole in the center of the block you can see the bushing with the camfollower off.The oil holein the bushing is smaller than the oil galley(hole in block).
