Truck Repair: PTO IDLE UP SPEED ON FL60, freightliner fl60, cummins engine

Question
Hello Cliff,
I have a 2000 Freightliner FL60 with a cummins engine.  It is fitted with a Chevron Flatbed wrecker.  It has an electric PTO switch to turn on the hydraulic pump for the wrecker....but it is also supposed to bring the idle up when activated.  This does not happen...which makes all the hydraulis move very slowly.  DO you know how thie idle up system works? I thouhgt it would just be a solenoid but this truck has an electronic accellerator pedal.  Can you give me some guidance?
Thanks

Answer
That system is all electronic. You will have to get it hooked up to a computor to set it up like you want it.If the "PTO" doesnt work, then its probably not enabled. The same switch is for cruise & PTO,if neither works then a switch is bad ie.. clutch, brake,or accel idle validation. OR you must turn Electric PTO on THEN turn cruise switch on,hit set or resume switch.
