Truck Repair: 94 F-150 4x4 5 speed 4.9L oil pan removal..., windshield wiper motor, must be a way

Question
Van, I tried that and thought it might just do the trick, but I realized that the crank wasn't in the way at all, even though I turned it anyway. The pan is dropped about 6-8 inches, but still will not clear the back through the lower frame and tranny. I tried other things again today, lifting the front by the frame under the doors and jacking the engine up as far as I could before it hit the firewall and started lifting the whole thing. I'm really mesmerized at this thing because I've never had a problem like this before. Everything I tried didn't work, either getting it out front or back. With the pan front up touching the engine block, it's still about an inch or two short from sliding out the back. The engine is pulled up away from the motor mounts about 3-4 inches or more and I unhooked the tranny mount so the tranny could pull up too. It almost looks as if the tranny has to come out to get the room, but I don't want to do that. There must be a way to get this pan w/o something major like that. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks again for your input.

Hello,
I have tried six ways from Sunday to jack, rejack and jack some more on the engine, only to fall short on getting the pan out the rear or front. Chilton's say's jack by the pulley and remove oil pan. I have the pan down, along with oil pump, but can't seem to fit it out the back because the tranny is in the way. I need atleast an inch more. With the under frame and tranny, just not enough room. I've got 2x4's in the mounts(and I jacked as high as I could go until it lifted the truck), 1'' piece of wood holding tranny up from mount(tried jacking tranny up too, but no luck), unbolted the windshield wiper motor to make room for the EGR to go up more, unhooked starter, bent fan shield away and STILL I can't find the extra space to get the pan out. I'm so frustrated I had to stop. Can you shed some light on this for me? Thank you so much.

Answer -
Rotate the crankshaft a little so the front connecting rod journals or counterweights clear the pan.

Answer
Hi Mike,
I doubt you are doing anything wrong.
Is the dipstick keeping it from coming out?

I guess, if necessary, you could remove some of the bolts that hold the body to the frame, and let it go up a little along with the engine.
never had to do that, but your rubber bushings may be really compressed.
If so, it would be a great time to put a set of bushings in. Some of those nylon ones would be pretty nice.

If you raise the body, might need to loosen the steering column mount bolts by the drivers knees.
