Eric. I have 2 questions, If a single injector on a 1983 v8 cat 3208 engine goes bad. What will the symptons be like when driving it. And how do you test to find the bad one?  

Answer
When an injector goes bad you can experience many symptoms -- loss of power - smoking - shakes - shudder - similar to a gasoline engine when it "loads up" .  Process of elimination is the easiest way - unless you time and the equipment to bench test each injector.
