Question'98 GMC sierra 1500 in great shape, 65K miles
Strange electrical problem.
When I turn the high beams on, they don't do on and the low
beams go out. (The panel indicator goes on) This happen a few
days ago and I have tried the each night. Yesterday evening, the
high beams came on for a moment, but after I shut them off, they
won't come on again. (which makes me tink that the bulbs are OK) I
looked at the fuses and the fusable-link pnel but do not see a
circuit for the high beams. any ideas?

I believe the headlights are on a fusible link, but it would run both high and low beams.
I think you have a problem with the dimmer switch, or a wire connector.
The dimmer switch is on the steering column, about above your shins, and is operated by a rod from the signal switch.
