Truck Repair: Rattle in Steering Column, ball bearing, ford f150

Question
I recently purchased an 05 Ford F150 FX4.  It developed an annoying rattle in the steering column at 4,00 miles.  It sounds like 2 small ball bearing clanking together and someimes sounds like grinding when you turn the steering wheel.  I took it to Ford but they couldn't figure it out.  What do I do?

Answer
Warranty!
If it is still within the miles, I would be back at the dealer, and tell them you don't care if they replace the complete column. If it is grinding inside, it might lock up during some turn, probably when you least expect it, and cause an accident.
Call Customer Assistance if they don't fix it.
I mean the customer assistance number in the owners manual.

There used to be an expert on this site that specialized in steering columns, and if you need to work on it yourself, you might contact him.
But seriously, there shouldn't be any grinding in there.

You could conside a different dealer also.
