Truck Repair: loose tilt steering column, chevrolet elcamino, tilt wheel

Hello, I have a 1986 chevrolet elcamino & the steering column has become very loose. Any suggestions on how to repair this problem? My truck also has been idling rapidly & stalling alot when I am at a lower speed.Thank you. Joe

Is it a tilt wheel?? They make a removal tool to take the pins out with.I have never done it,but I sure it is not a hard job to tighten the screws in the column.Rpid idle probably means an intake leak.Get some flamable spray like brake cleaner & spray around the base of the carb & anywhere a vacuum line is & if it idles higher,there is the leak.
