Truck Repair: cummins isb keeps dying, w a cummins, amp fuse

Question
Unfortunately I was unable to retrieve the codes becuase the batteries lost their charge and evidently the computers memory was erased as well. I know that without the codes I am pretty much sol just as I am by not having any of the reference material that I should have. by chance would the apps/tps be able to cause a no start condition in this engine? I my self have never run into an engine that a tps would cause a no start. the crank sensor is good that I know for a fact, it was my first thought. any other ideas before I have this pump warranteed.

I have finally got the ground issue fixed and the engine still will not start, what are the odds that the injector pump has failed as a result of the broken ground to the injector pump?

the check engine light does come on intermetently but goes out shortly after it comes on some times it will loose power and other times it runs fine, i forgot what the flash out code is that it displays when i hit the check engine button.  I do have 12v pos but i dont have a ground, does this ground out through the pcm/ecu like some other engines do? if not should jjumping the ground work to start the engine?

i have a 200 freightliner w/a cummins isb engine the engine stumbled last monday then tuesday after i started it up it shut down as if it ran out of fuel, this is the 5th time it has done this to me in the past 3 years. it has adequate fuel pressure going into the injector pump 14psi @ injector pump but the injector pump is not sending fuel to the injectors. last january was the last time it did this and i was told it needed an injector pump so I replaced the injector pump and the lift pump, that did not work so i had it towed to another dealer and they replaced the crank sensor, fuel pump relay and repaired a wire going to the injector pump, i have checked all the wires to the injector pump and none of them appear to be broken, what else should i check on this engine before i replace the crank sensor and fuel pump relay?
Answer -
I havent ever replaced a relay.Any STOP engine or CHECK engine lights BEFORE it dies?If so,you need to see what code it is & go from there. If no codes, check the unswitched battery wiring.Should have three 7.5 amp & two 10 amp fuses in or near the battery compartment.

But does a check engine light or stop engine light come on?You can check to see if there is power at the VP44(inj pump) connector. It is pin 6 & 7.Looking at the connector end where it has a "smiley" face, pin 6 & 7 are on the bottom.6 is ground & 7 is 12V pos.DO NOT put voltage on pump or you will fry the computor on top of it!6 is on left & 7 on the right.
Answer -
The power & ground goes through the 23 pin connector located on top of the transfer pump near bellhousing on fuel pump side.Freightliner does have a separate wire harness for the 23 pin connector for battery & such. The pins are numbered A,B,C,...12vPos are B,C,D,M, & S.The NEGs are E,F,H,P,W,& Q.Check there to batteries first.Might just be a wire broken or rubbing the bellhousing or frame.

The code would help ALOT on which direction to go with checking why it will not start.Nothing electrical suprises me anymore,so the pump could have been damaged from the ground. If you can get the 3 digit codes,I can tell you what to check next.

Answer
I would not rule out a bad fuel pump.If all wiring is good & fuel pressure is good it should run.I cant think of a sensor that will make it not start execpt mabe the EPS sensor under the fuel pump.I dont think I ever changed one on an ISB before, but have on the ISC.
