Truck Repair: Ford No Spark, distributor shaft, matter cause

Question
Well Van,
I ran the hot wire from the positive post to the positive side of the coil and got nothing.  What else is there?

Answer
Assuming the coil is good, and the distributor shaft is turning, then a part in the distributor, (Pole piece, or pickup), or the ignition control module would about have to be it.
A broken wire going to the distributor maybe.

Timing gear wouldn't matter, cause even if it were out of time, there should still be spark.
You surely have wiggled all the connections during the parts swaping.

Make sure that rotor is turning.
