Truck Repair: 1993 chevy 2500 ignition problem, tomarrow, gears

Question
This isnt really "mechanical" persay, the problem that is. Last night my truck, an automatic, wasnt disengaging the parking break, it would come up, but the light on the console would still be on, so i engaged and disengaged it a few times, and then it shut off, i tried to put the truck into drive from park, and it felt as though it was locked up, so, like an ass, i forced it, and now the ignition is stuck in the on position and the truck wont shut off, i had to manually disconnect the power to it. so after i have gone thru all of the gears, the ignition does nto seem to want to budge. no matter what gear or even in park. so im kinda confused right now, and well, SOL. i have work tomarrow and a drivable vehicle would be nice, any ideas? thanks for your time.

Answer
You need to get a book on your truck (if you don't have one already) and tear into the the keyswitch / ignition switch area.  There is a lock (pin) in there that locks the column when the key is in the off position.  Something in there is goofed, and the only way tio find out is to tear into it.  Plus once you pull it all apart, and if for some reason you cant get it back together before morning, you should be able to "rig" it to get to work.  Hope this helps a little.
