My truck has a starting issue; when you turn the key it will just click; I can do this 5 or 6 times and it just clicks or I can start it up on the first try.  My boyfriend has put in a new starter, a new ignition switch and (I may have this one wrong) neutral relay box.  What do you suggest?
Answer -
Just clicking sounds like a ground problem or bad battery. Have the battery checked at local parts house and if it is good, check ground to engine.

Thank you for your response; we are still having problems.  He changed the battery cables and checked the ground wires and replaced another relay.  It does start sometimes, but does the clicking thing about every five or so starts.  One of the batteries is brand new about four months ago and he checked the other one.

The clicking thing sounding more like a voltage problem than anything else. Are the battery cable ends clean of corrosion?

this is the boyfriend now... I have cleaned all the battery posts, cable ends, replaced the hot to hot cable... the clicking donna is talking about is not the starter, what she is hearing is the injector pump solenoid... the starter either works just fine, or it does nothing, no clicking, no noise whatsoever... it will remain like that for an hour or even overnight, then it will start right up... it will start all day, or for a couple of days, then the same problem... could the problem lie in the wiring loom itself? thanks  gary

Answer
You said you replaced the neutral safty switch so that would be the next thing to check, you allready changed the ignition switch.Your have run out of switches to change. But I dont work on the Dodge side,I wish I could get a wiring diagram for them.It could be a wire broken in the loom somewhere making an intermiting connection.Probably the only way to find it is when it happens, check voltage at starter solenoid(the small wire),then back thru the system while someone was holding it to start position.
