Vintage Cars: 1976 Triumph Spitfire, friction linings, bleeding brakes

QUESTION: Just finished bleeding brakes, test drove, right front brake binding. Wheel difficult to turn by hand, applied brake and released, wheel siezed unable to turn . Backed off bleeder screw very slightly was able to turn wheel but is still binding.Brake pads loook O.K.
      Your expertise shall be greatly appreciated.

ANSWER: pull apart the caliper, wire brush and grease all parts that move aginst each other, dab of copper grease afterwards on all moving parts (apart from friction linings) all should be well.

QUESTION: Many thanks for your timely reply Christian.
      My quandry now is that I was able to read in a Spitfire repair manual re the caliper "on no account loosen the bolts which hold the two halves of the caliper together"
      Sorry to be a nuisance but I don't want to make the current situation into a full blown disaster.
      Can you put my mind at ease on this, you have probably guessed by now that I am a neophyte at this.

yes, don't open the two halfs, this forms the pressure vessel -
If it's leaking it can certainly be opened to replace the gasket but it needs to be skimmed like a cylinder head and fairly precisely torqued down when putting it back together (preferably all bolts at the same time to prevent any warping at all) to ensure a perfect seal.

I overlooked this and was too general with the answer.
