Vintage Cars: Cranks well smell gas wont start, fuel additive, smell gas

Question
1985 380 SL 70,000 miles. The car has been sitting for 5 months in a garage in Iowa, but always started very well. Charged battery, cranks well, strong gas odor, won't start
Need help, it has always started quickly.

Answer
probably stuck cold start valve or injectors are gunked up and leaking not letting it start.  Could also be the intake flap stuck closed , depress it and see if it floats back up.
Is the fuel pump spinning up?
Is this old fuel?  How much was in the tank?  Sitting is never good for fuel without fuel additive to keep from going bad.  That may be your problem as well
