Vintage Cars: 1986 500sl euro model, fuel air mixture, sensor signals

Question
QUESTION: I just acquired this car from a friend it was runnng a little rough so I've since changed rotor, distributor cap wires and plugs its 70% better but still has a hesitation on take off, it seams to sputter then gradually picks up, once going has plenty of power took to a dealer they got me for a timing chain put never fixed the problem, any ideas?

ANSWER: my first thought is injectors or fuel pressure. Have either been tested?
Can also be timing - dwell - have either of those been set to spec? Did you change points along with rotor cap??

QUESTION: Thanks for the answer, no points on this car however fuel filter was changed as for dwell I can only imagine the dealer would have checked that in an effort to fix this problem but I will definitely ask if they did the technician did tell me he adjusted fuel/air mixture

Answer
opps , missed the year, yes you are correct KE -JETronic - no points, - no dwell
This system uses a device called a differential pressure regulator to control fuel mixture in response to both engine temperature and oxygen sensor signals. IS the lack of response in both cold and hot engine?
Has the O2 sensor/circut  been checked
