Vintage Cars: 1981 280 ce, 280ce, dual cam

Hi Ron,
I just bought a 1981 280ce mercedes with 180,000 miles.  The mechanic that I took it to today was telling me that this car is really expensive to service because of the dual cam engine.  I generally get the feeling that he might be ripping me off.  Do you think that what he says about maintaining this car is true?  (or any more so than other mercedes'?)

a 280 CE with good service history is no more expensive to take care of than other cars.  The key here is service history, if the car has had good care in its lifetime, it will run for as long as you want.
All my MB's have nearly 200K on them , 0ne has 220K and my friend has 320K
Use mechanics with MB experience, others simply do not know
