Vintage Cars: 1950 chevy master cylinder, stainless steel brakes, inline tube

Question
do you have any experience with replacing one?

Answer
Short answer is yes, but not in a long time.  These aren't too hard to replace assuming the bolts come out.  Soak everything with PB BLASTER spray for several days before attempting to remove the fittings and nuts.

Buy a new (rebuilt) Master and that will give you a good idea of how it goes on.  Also a good idea to have your cars service manual handy just in case and maybe some flaring tools.

Here is the best advice.  Buy the new (rebuilt) MC and do NOT turn in your old one for the core charge till you are 100% sure the new one will fit/work.

Also consider going with a newer style dual line master cyl.  Stainless STeel brakes co. or Inline Tube co. both sell kits.  Just google their names.

Do a complete flush of the fluid once you have the MC installed, it should come with instructions on how to bleed the item before installing it (bench bleed).
