Vintage Cars: Mustangs, boss 429 mustang, 1969 boss 429

Question
Hey!
My dream car is a 1969 Boss 429 Mustang.  How much would one cost that wasn’t show car quality, but ran good?  Like having a few dents and a not perfect interior would be ok.  By the way, how do you classify cars by condition? Like 1st class, 2nd class, what?
Thanks so much.

Answer
You're right- that's a dream car!  VERY rare and valuable, too.  A genuine 429 Boss, in halfway decent shape, is close to $100,000, and the best examples are 2-3 times that. If you find one for a lot less, then it's a parts car, or it's not a genuine Boss 429.  If you'e determined to get one, you MUST hire a Mustang expert to examine the car for you.  There are a lot of base Mustangs that have been converted to a Boss just to try and get the big money.  Frauds like this are worth even less than a clean original base Mustang, so be extremely careful.
