When I was perusing the owner's manual for my 2012 Kia Sedona, I took a look at its scheduled maintenance chart and found the Kia recommends inspecting the serpentine belt at 60,000 miles and every 15,000 miles beyond 60,000. I went ahead and took a look, and found that there were some chunks of rubber missing from the belt, so I went ahead and replaced it. Basically, replacing the belt in my Sedona was just like any other belt I have replaced.
I attached a breaker bar and socket on the bolt in the center of the tensioner pulley which, in the belt's routing path, was between the power steering pump pulley and the crankshaft pulley. I then turned the breaker bar counterclockwise to relieve the tension.
