If the climate control switch on your 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan is malfunctioning, there are three possible problems: the climate control fuse has burnt out, the climate control's electrical connector has become loose, or the climate control itself has failed and will need to be replaced. Repairing any of those problems on your 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan is fairly simple, and should not take you more than an hour to complete.
Open the hood of the Caravan and locate the fuse box.
Remove the cover from the fuse box and locate the fuse in slot F18.
Remove the fuse from the fuse box with a fuse puller. If the fuse is blown, you will need to replace it with a new 15A fuse. If the climate control switch is still malfunctioning, you will need to check the electrical connector.
Remove the four screws from the central dash bezel on the Caravan. Pull the bezel off.
Remove the four screws securing the climate control unit to the vehicle. Pull the unit towards you and reach behind it to locate the electrical connector.
Pull on the connector. If it is loose or if it is not connected, securely plug it into the climate control unit. If the climate control switch is still malfunctioning, the issue is with the climate control unit and it will need to be replaced.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the unit and pull it out of the vehicle. Install a replacement unit and connect the electrical connector to the new unit. Reinstall the four screws.
Reattach the dash bezel and reinstall the four screws securing it to the vehicle.
