How to Replace Window Switch on ML430

The Mercedes ML430 has a power window switch cluster located in the center console between the front seats. This switch cluster gives the driver and front passenger instant control of all the windows in the Mercedes ML430. If any of the switches in the switch cluster short circuit, you'll need to replace the entire switch cluster, as Mercedes offers no repair parts for the cluster. Anyone with good mechanical inclination can replace the window switch cluster on a Mercedes ML430 in less than 25 minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Trim tool
  • Pry the old window switch cluster from the ML430's center console carefully using the trim tool. Use caution not to crack the surrounding trim bezel.

  • Lift the window switch cluster out of the console by hand. Disconnect the switch cluster from the power window wiring harness manually. Set the old switch cluster aside.

  • Plug the ML430's new window switch cluster into the power window wiring harness manually. Set the switch cluster into the center console.

  • Push down gently on the ML430's new window switch cluster until it snaps into place.
