You may need to remove the seat from your Honda XR motorcycle due to seat damage or to perform certain maintenance procedures on the bike. Getting the seat off the bike is quite simple, and it should only take you a matter of minutes to remove the bolts and release the seat. You will only need a socket wrench with an 6 mm head to complete this process.
Park your Honda XR100 on level ground. Secure the kickstand to prevent the motorcycle from tipping over.
Locate the bolts that run along the perimeter of your motorcycle seat. Remove these bolts with a 6 mm socket wrench, and put them safely to the side.
Grab the seat toward the rear of the bike, and lift. As you do this, you are attempting to release the seat hook near the front of the seat and below the fuel tank. Once the hook releases, you can fully remove the seat.
