How Do I Reset Maintenance on a 2007 Mercedes C230?

The 2007 Mercedes-Benz C230 features a 2.5-liter DOHC Flex Fuel V-6 Engine, six-speed manual transmission, four-wheel independent suspension and many other creature comforts that come standard on the vehicle. The C230’s dashboard screen will display service engine warnings when certain maintenance tasks to the vehicle are overdue. If you decide to perform the regular maintenance tasks needed for your vehicle's engine, you will need to reset the onboard computer in order to get rid of the overdue service prompts displayed on your dashboard screen.

  • Open the driver's-side door and sit in the vehicle.

  • Insert your key into the ignition and turned the key to the “ON” position but do not start the engine.

  • Locate the lower on-screen menu display button positioned to the right of the down-arrow button, on the left side of the steering wheel. Press the lower on-screen menu button twice in order to display the odometer reading on your dashboard screen.

  • Press the down-arrow button located on the left side of your steering wheel until the “Service B” menu shows up on your dashboard screen.

  • Locate the gray reset button protruding from the left side of your instrument cluster. Press and hold the reset button until the “Service interval” text appears on your dashboard screen.

  • Press and hold the reset button for three seconds until you hear a beep and the dashboard screen reads “Service interval has been reset.”
