Car is making alot of noise. You want to put a new muffler on. Do it yourself and save.
Examine what is wrong with exhaust system. Is it a hole in the tail pipe? Is the muffler blown out? Is it a pipe between the muffler and catalytic converter or manifold. Find out how bad it is.
If it is not clear rusted and it is fixable, you can get a repair for it. You can get a muffler bandage and put oer small holes. These are a soft metal you can clamp over hole. You can also take a heavier gauge sheet metal and make a patch. Clamp this oer the damaged area with muffler clamps.
If it is beyond a simple repair you must remove damage piece be it the muffler or tail pipe. Remove clamps and tap on pieces to loosen. If real rusty use a torch to heat rusted area this will help break it lose.
Be careful with torch around vehicle and gas and oil. Buy exact piece so it will fit right in attach with muffler clamps.
