How to Remove the Shift Knob in a Cadillac Seville

The gear shift knob in the final two body styles of the Cadillac Seville is held on by a tiny clip. Once this clip is removed, the shift knob slides off with ease. These instructions apply to 1992 to 2003 Seville cars, as well as the SLS and the Cadillac Eldorado.

Things You'll Need

  • Small flat head screwdriver
  • Turn the ignition key to the "ACC" position and put your foot on the brake. Move the shift knob from "Park" to "Neutral."

  • Engage the parking brake for safety. Once the shift knob is in place, remove the small clip from the side facing the radio. Use a small flat head screwdriver to pull it out.

  • Pull up on the shift knob to remove it. Put the gear selector back in park until you are ready to replace it.
