How to Replace the Fuses in a Mitsubishi 3000GT

The Mitsubishi 3000GT comes in many varieties including the Spyder, SL and VR-4. While only in creation from 1991 until 1999 there are still many on the road. If you own one and you blow a fuse, you can replace it on your own to save on time and money.

Things You'll Need

  • Fuse puller
  • Same rating fuse
  • Turn your car off. Consult your owner's manual to find the location of the fuse you need to save time.

  • Find the various fuse boxes with one under the steering wheel and to the left. Open the hood and see the other two fuse boxes-one on the passenger's side and the other on the driver's side.

  • Open the fuse box and review the list of fuses housed in each box. Locate the one you need to replace. For instance, in a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT the interior light fuse is in slot 19.

  • Remove the fuse using a fuse puller or press your thumb and index finger together. Look at the wire in the middle of the fuse that's broken or melted to be sure it's blown.

  • Obtain a new fuse that has the same rating to replace the blown fuse. The fuse ratings are listed on the cover. In the earlier example, the interior fuse for a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT has a 10 amp rating.

  • Push the fuse securely into place and close the fuse box. Restart your car and test out the new fuse to verify it works.
